GLOBAL PROCESSES

Groupe Marck is committed to a global Corporate Social Responsibility approach ranging from involvement in sustainable development initiatives to practical action plans related to the operational management of business. This process is based on the essential aspects of the ISO 26000standard.

Groupe Marck has also joined the “United Nations Global Compact” and on a daily basis shares the ten universal principle organised into four key areas:

  1. Human rights,
  2. International labour standards,
  3. Environment,
  4. The fight against corruption.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Local development

  1. Payment of the apprenticeship tax to Chambers of Commerce and Industry in order to be closer to regional economic development stakeholders.
  2. Involvement in consortiums and regional authorities in order to optimise local synergies
  3. Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) accreditation for the BBA subsidiary, confirming the Group’s commitment to retain such expertise and jobs in France (label awarded by the Ministry of Industry).

Insertion

  1. The company is a signatory of the APEC youth membership charter, promoting the vocational inclusion of young people with qualifications.
  2. Hosts interns from the “second chance school” (young people who have left the education system).
  3. Offers vocational training hours for public contracts.

Sponsorship

  1. Support and participation of the Group in sporting and/or charity initiatives such as the Indre inter-company challenge and the Odysséa race since 2014.
  2. Financial assistance for charity sporting events such as the Course du Cœur.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Regarding suppliers

  1. General implementation of the OEKO-TEX label with the Group’s suppliers and partners, ensuring the human/ecological qualities of textiles: except products that are toxic to the body and the environment.
  2. Requirement for all fabric suppliers to sign a certificate guaranteeing that they only use authorised colourants in accordance with the REACH regulations.
  3. Priority given to general office suppliers (paper, office supplies, etc.) that have a sustainable development approach.

Regarding customers

  1. Recycling of used textiles: this scheme starts with a fully secured collection and ends with recycling and full recovery. The entire process is transparent with regulated traceability.

Within the group

  1. Groupe Marck’s new head office is a “pilot building”: reduced electricity consumption, installation of an electric vehicle charging station, reversible air-conditioning system, video-conferencing room reducing travel.
  2. Group framework agreements with energy partners to reduce consumption and use renewable energy sources.
  3. Reduced impact of packaging (cardboard, plastic, fabric).

Groupe Marck has been committed to a sustainable development policy for over 10 years.

On the one hand, this term represents a set of rules and procedures that are used to ensure compliance with the standards applicable to our companies by all employees and managers and, on the other, the values and ethics instilled by the managers. In practice, every group employee must comply with the contents of the following four documents:

 

  • Code of ethics and business conduct, which sets out the principles to be applied within Groupe Marck and each of its entities. To consult it, click here.
  • Groupe Marck’s anti-corruption policy, containing a zero-tolerance policy with regard to corruption.
  • Mutual conduct guide, which governs the relationships between Groupe Marck and its suppliers in line with the rules of ethics, continuous progress and sustainable development.
  • Procedures define the rules to be followed by each of the Group’s employees.

Implementation is reflected by:

 

  1. The creation of a Compliance Officer position
  2. Statement of the Group’s directors/shareholders
  3. The provision of complete documentation (such as the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct)
  4. Awareness sessions about compliance
  5. Including of documentation in the rules and regulations of the Group’s entities
  6. Implementation of an audit programme
  7. A project group working on data security (RGPD)

Groupe Marck’s Compliance policy is embodied by its managers and implemented on a daily basis by all management.
